Many small businesses who have participated in the initiatives presented on this website have said their efforts to operate more sustainably were frustrated by lack of access to cost effective recycling.

Up until recently, businesses in Bendigo have not had access to the same kerb side recycling facilities that are available to residential properties.

GreenYourBusiness approached the City of Greater Bendigo on behalf of these businesses, and with the council’s support kerb side recycling is now available for most businesses in Bendigo.

This is a voluntary program operating under the same guidelines as residential pickups – you will receive a blue lid bin which will be emptied fortnightly on the same day as your normal rubbish pickup.

The cost for this service will also be the same as residential recycling services and will be added to your annual council rates ($50 in 2007).
