MOST IMPORTANT!

1.

2.

3.
Know how household appliances have an affect on the enviroment through their energy and water use, and how to use them in a way that conserves our resources.

When purchasing new equipment, look for companies willing to share their knowledge on the enviromental impact of what they sell.

Engaging a Certified Green Plumber means you can take a proactive approach to sustainability.

Saving Energy

We turn off equipment when it's not being used.
We use low energy globes for our internal lighting.
We purchase GreenPower through our electricity provider.
We are in the process of installing a water timer device to the shower, to save energy as well as water.

Saving Water

All our office toilets are dual flush.
We have a greywater system to recycle all water in the building.
We have installed a Chilli Pepper device into the staff hand basin to save hot water - instead of running cold water out of the tap until it heats up, this initial flow is diverted either around the water line and back into the hot water tank, or outside onto the garden.
We are fitting a water saving device to the shower head that has a timer to record and monitor shower levels. It also has an alarm to notify you if your shower is getting too long!
Reducing waste

We use recycled office paper and print double sided wherever possible.
Staff use designated recycle bins in the office area.
Reusing Resources

We use scrap paper for notes.
Our staff use mugs instead of disposable cups.
Sandhurst Recyclers collect and recycle all our      cardboard, old hot water units we've replaced, and other materials from job sites.
We shred all paper for reuse or recycling. Shredded
paper is used here as mulch on the gardens around the office and for packing when posting products. Any left over is recycled through the council recycling program.
Policies & Programs

As a registered Green Plumber, we train and update our staff on tank and greywater useage, 5-star rated
appliances, etc. so they have the knowledge to pass on to our customers.
We provide weekly training sessions on new water
conservation and energy saving products for our plumbers.
We have a 5-star Green Plumbing Accreditation.
We arrange access to various water rebates for our
customers.
Phil Kelly also speaks on water conservation for public and community groups, such as the Green Plumbers Association, Rotary, local council, etc.
