Just simply turning off unused equipment takes no time to implement. No training is needed either, just a change of thinking. Splitting up the lighting circuit so that not every light goes on with one switch might cost money to set up, but it can save $$$ on ongoing power bill. When ordering goods from suppliers, particularly components, ask for them to be provided without separate packaging. It's such a simple way to reduce waste! |

We make a conscious effort to turn off modems and other computer equipment overnight and when they are not in use. Our company policy is to turn off any equipment that is not being used, and staff are great at keeping this up. We've split our overhead lights by fitting more switches so they don't all come on at once - we only turn on the lights we are directly using. Weather permitting, we always open the large roller door to our factory to make the most of natural light. |

All our toilets are dual flush. We don't have an urn as there are not enough people to use one. We use very little water in our business operations. |

We recently took up the City of Greater Bendigo's offer for kerb side recycling for Bendigo businesses, so now we have an alternative to the rubbish bin! |

We print on both sides of the page wherever possible. For memos we use the back of scrap paper. |

We are currently implementing a NO energy initiative in our factory. We are in the process of retrofitting all 12 volt workstation lights to run off batteries that are recharged from a solar panel. We have fitted cordless 12 volt screwdrivers to factory workstations that can also be run off the solar charged batteries, with assistance from the mains only when the solar panels can't supply the full load. |
